About

Left Field Ventures is a dynamic production company based in Brussels, Belgium. The outfit’s adventurous vibe is aptly illustrated in the five feature-length films it has excutive-produced in the span of a mere two years — as well as the films it is currently developing. Some of these are hush-hush, so we’ll tell you more later.

Movies made on a tight budget, with sometimes peculiar subjects (i.e., VAMPIRES – a mockumentary on a family of vampires), but also humorous, lyrical, and dramatic projects…

The latter include two films that the company is currently financing and developing : Vincent Lannoo’s THE TAMED ONES and Stefan Liberski’s LONELY WOMAN.

In THE TAMED ONES, a twenty-year-old on the dole and his little sister are suddenly orphaned. If he keeps bumming around, their aunt will take custody of the little girl and he’ll stop getting the state’s money… Behind the grit, the knocks, the loneliness, there is love.

LONELY WOMAN is a road movie through Japan : a young European woman wanders in an alien culture, and rediscovers herself. A down-and-out Belgian private eye is on her trail. A moving, humorous and soul-searching journey in the unfamiliar context of everyday Japan.

Founded in 2002, Left Field Ventures started out with an ambitious publishing project : a 2-volume, 1000-page encyclopedia on popular music throughout the world (published in late 2006). Left Field has since completed the production of three feature films, has two currently in post-production, two in preparation, and four in development.
