A MAXIME & MICHEL PASQUE DOCUMENTARY
The Pasque Cousins follow Belgian amateur filmmaker Jean-Jacques Rousseau through the making of his 43rd feature film -- a helter-skelter affair, fraught with humorous twists and pathetic turns.
The self-annointed Absurdist Filmmaker keeps making movies on a few hundred euros, from skimpy scripts, with a rag-tag crew of flunkies and amateur comedians cast from chance encounters. All of them are devoted to the director’s cause, as if contributing to a life-altering process, against the grim backdrop of the down-and-out coal-mining region of Charleroi, Belgium.
